Rather than keep a private journal, which would last for about one day, I decided that the prospect of people reading my musings would both encourage my putting them “on paper” as well as provide me a fun way to post thoughts as they arise.  (No need to tell me about Twitter, I don’t want it to be that easy.)

I have been keeping a few notes on topics I wanted to start off with in this blog, and I will write them quickly so I can get to real-time thoughts as I investigate and become seduced by the Grateful Dead in my decrepit state of middle age.
